About Pool Chlorine

Free chlorine is your pool's primary sanitizer. It kills bacteria, viruses, and algae to keep your water safe for swimming. The ideal range is 2-4 ppm (parts per million).

Chlorine Types

Liquid Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite): Fast-acting, doesn't add CYA. Best for regular dosing.
Cal-Hypo (Calcium Hypochlorite): Granular shock, adds calcium. Good for weekly shocking.
Dichlor: Stabilized granular, adds CYA. Good for hot tubs.
Trichlor: Slow-dissolving tablets, adds CYA. Best in chlorine feeders.
